Team4Tech and Autodesk returns to train teachers
Volunteers from Team4Tech and Autodesk are arriving in Kayamandi on 11 April, to spend two weeks training local teachers in the implementation of 21 century technology and skills in the classroom. This follow after a successful first visit to South Africa in August last year.
“The Team4Tech approach is unique because we pair volunteers from relevant technology companies with nonprofit organizations to deliver meaningful impact to their programs,’ said Dawn Kwan, program manager of Team4Tech.
“The collaboration with Team4Tech and Autodesk was a high-impact, high-energy project, and it has since sparked many further projects and collaborations. We are very happy to expand and grow our partnership to create sustainable impact within the community,” said Moija Van Zyl, project manager of Eduvate, a program of the Greater Stellenbosch Development Trust (GSDT).
The training will make use of Autodesk software, 3D printers, and the mobile computer lab which Team4Tech installed last year. Members of the press can attend the 3D design workshop which starts at 9:00 AM at Vision Afrika on Saturday, 16 April (RSVP at firstname.lastname@example.org). Team4Tech and Autodesk will also present an EdTech meetup on the 19th of April at the LaunchLab, which starts at 6:00 PM.
